Capitol Tool has extensive experience in CNC Milling with the capabilities for full “B” axis and 3D milling on the horizontals, as well as “A” axis and 3D milling on the verticals. Our flexibility allows us to shift quickly from short runs to high volume orders. Our newer machines are equipped with Renishaw probes for inspection of the work piece directly on the machine. We routinely manufacture parts smaller than a dime, to as large as a 20″ x 40″ plate, supported by Mastercam and Solidworks software.
We have three turning centers that are highly versatile with a capacity to turn parts with diameters of 1/8″ to 8″ in size; and shafts up to 20″ in length, radial, axial, Y axis, live to tooling milling. They are equipped with bar feeders which easily convert from production runs to short runs. Our turning centers are supported by Mastercam and Solidworks software, allowing us to program highly complex turned parts.
Surface grinding is another valuable service we offer. Whether it is flat grinding plates as small as .100 square or as large as 16″ x 32″, our grinders are equipped with Optidress for fast reliable form dressing of the wheel. Also available is CNC surface and form grinding. We routinely hold tolerances to +/- .00005.
Our EDM Department is equipped to handle many EDM needs. Our three Fanuc Wire EDMs are capable of cutting complex openings and profiles on parts 7″ tall, 13″ long and 9″ wide, as well as tapers up to 30 degrees. Automatic wire feed and repair allows us to routinely run these machines unattended, lowering labor costs. These machines are supported by PC FAPT/Mastercam/Solidworks software.
Die Sink EDM enables us to do various cavities, and our Hole Popper drills .008 – .125 diameter holes in hardened material.
